The current track and mood of the popular show, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' is certainly getting all the fans jubilant and ecstatic as the much-awaited Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) aka DevAkshi's marriage is all set to be hitting the television screens soon.

However, before we get all elated about it, there are some points we noticed about the show and we applaud it to infinity.

The pre-marriage track which was recently concluded can be termed as one of the best storylines on Indian television. While any quintessential daily soap would have opted for the cliched drama, preposterous twists and unreal situations to spice up the show, Kuch Rang..' did not do that and in fact did something better.

Don't Bend because you are from the Girls' Side

Yes. We belong to a society where the association of marriage has a lot of factors attached to it. And it is only unfortunate; according to a presumed notion, that the family on the bride-to-be's side has to be the one making all the sacrifices and bending to the groom-to-be's side. And thanks to this notion, our TV shows, over the years has chosen to portray the same.

But, in Kuch Rang..', these notions have been broken. In one of the scenes, Dev's family, Ishwari (Supriya Pilgaonkar), Maamaji (Mushtaq Khan) and Maami (Alka Mogha) go to talk about the marriage and the rituals to be done for it with Sonakshi's family. Belonging to different cultures, i.e. Punjabi and Bengali respectively, Maami mention how it is a must to have a loud Punjabi wedding. And instead of playing the inferior one, Sonakshi's father counters her and tells that we are Bengali and all this is not acceptable. Both families are adamant on having their type of wedding.

In this scene, its not about having a conflict and being adamant about your stand, but it is about not falling victim to the societal norm and instead agreeing on an amicable decision and that is what happened.

Don't Fall Prey to Anything The Boy's Side Ask For

In another instance, we witnessed an episode dedicated to an issue, we think NOT any show has ever managed to highlight. An episode about the factor of Pre-Nuptial Agreement which is about how a to-be wife agrees that she wouldn't demand any property or money should the couple's marriage not work out in the future from her husband.

The show portrays Dev as a self-made wealthy person and this agreement is brought to notice by his lawyer which Dev disgusts immediately. However, when Ishwari learns about it, she wants Sonakshi to sign it as she is also thinking about her daughters.

However, in such a situation, where the demands of the bridegroom's side are considered to be ULTIMATE, Kuch Rang..' has something else in store for us. Disgusted by this agreement, Sonakshi's father stands up to Ishwari's mother and puts forward his point. He mentions how money is the pettiest thing that can affect them and that their self-respect is their pride. Money or such an agreement cannot change any of it.

This scene marked how it is important to not be blind when it comes to making such decisions and not lose your stand and self-respect even if you belong to the bride's family.

Breaking All Stereotypes

With all the recent scenes in the show, it goes without saying that Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi' has presented us the most realistic, apt and liberal thought process possible. It is time to break some stereotypes and the show is literally doing that.

While we can keep loving and adoring Dev and Sonakshi's love story, we absolutely applaud the show's take on marriage and the families attached to it.
