How Kpop Idols Are Coping With Quarantine

From delayed comebacks to cancelled shows and postponed productions, the coronavirus pandemic is taking a serious toll on the Korean entertainment industry.

Korea has had a rise of infected persons significantly and is also currently on lockdown. But fears of the virus have sent much of the showbiz industry into shutdown mode. Kpop Idols have all cleared their schedules and self-isolated. 

Although this gives them a well-deserved break from their hectic lifestyles, it also leaves them with plenty of free time.

Most stars have seen this opportunity to interact with their fans and others are taking up hobbies.

Fans of the girl band were disappointed when the final shows of their “Twicelights” tour in Seoul on March 7 and 8 were cancelled. 

Thankfully, the girls have been popping by the V Live video streaming service to surprise fans with all sorts of quirky content from playing a hilarious round of the Mafia card game, to trying their hand at whipping up Dalgona coffee, to doing mukbang-themed ASMR challenges. They have also changed their Twitter profile cover to 'Twice Food' and posting pictures of their food.

The TT singers have also been posting videos of them on social media experimenting social games and other things.

K-pop boy band Pentagon returned with their new single Dr Bebe on February 11. Due to the unfortunate timing of their comeback, the group had to appear without an audience during live performances and were unable to proceed with scheduled fan meetings.

To make up for it, Hongseok held a virtual fan meeting that was streamed on the band’s YouTube channel. During the three-hour stream, he spent the first hour making the trending Dalgona coffee (a frothy concoction inspired by traditional Korean candy) and the rest of the session playing the online shooter game Sudden Attack. 

Now that’s some wholesome content.

The group has been providing the fans with quality content by posting pictures of them individually and together.

One of the most famous Boy Bands, BTS hasn't failed to keep their fans from missing them. with constant posts to videos and photos of their dogs, BTS has been very active.

Apart from that, the legendary boy band is also frequently on the Vlive app interacting with their fans in the most adorable way. You will often see Jimin pop up on the live streaming app sometimes joined by the leader RM. The little mochi entertains fans as he eats, sings and more.

Taehyung has also been active on Twitter, posting videos of his pet Yeontan which resulted in the little dog to trend on the social media site.

The group also recently appeared with James Corden on his Homefest special. The group gave messages for their fans and asked them to stay safe. They also performed their hit single 'Boy With Luv'

While EXO has not been as active as the other groups, they have been also frequently posting on social media and appearing on the VLive app.

Suho, a member of the boy band, recently released a single with Steve Aoki 'Love You More'.

He has been the most active of them all with many pictures up on their official page to appearing on twitter blue room and more.

He has been busy promoting his new album 'Self Portrait' which is providing fans for enough content for it to not be as lonely.
