'Home Shanti' starring Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa to release on May 6

In the latest series of Hotstar Specials Home Shanti - veteran actors Supriya Pathak and Manoj Pahwa will be seen enjoying endearing familial chemistry to make for a pleasant soft watch to be enjoyed with family and friends.

The slice-of-life drama is directed by Aakanksha Dua and centers around the Joshi family's long-held dreams of becoming first-time homeowners. The next generation of Joshis is played by Chakori Dwivedi and Poojan Chhabra, both of whom are newcomers to the industry.

Akshay Asthana, Aakanksha Dua, Nidhi Bisht, Mayank Pandey, Nikhil Sachan, and Saurabh Khanna wrote the script. The series, which is produced by Posham Pa Pictures, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on May 6th.

Umesh Joshi, a humorous Hindi newspaper writer, his stoic retired government school vice-principal wife, Sarla Joshi, and their 22 and 16-year-old children, Jigyasa Joshi and Naman Joshi revolve around their lovably chaotic life. 

It follows the journey of a middle-class Dehradun family, telling a moving narrative that is universal but personal to everyone who strive to create their own houses. Home Shanti is a lighthearted film that examines the bond that exists between parents and siblings and how it may be strengthened in the midst of adversity.

The Joshis encounter a dilemma when their matriarch, Sarla Joshi decides to take voluntary retirement from her government school job instead of accepting a transfer halfway across the country.
