Here's why J D Majethia & Aatish Kapadia cast their OWN kids as Jacky & Chakki in 'Khichdi'

Star Plus' Khichdi is nearly a week away and there certainly is a great level of excitement attached to it. In one of my teaser reviews, I had mentioned how I love the fact that, the show is not showing a leap or anything and there is no age bar coming to play, if it would have been the case, then it would have completely spoiled the innocence and vibe of the show.

This, of course, meant, that we would be witnessing new kids as Jacky and Chakki, as the old ones have certainly grown up.

And in this season, we would be witnessing none other than J D Majethia & Aatish Kapadia's own kids as Chakki and Jacky respectively.

Yes! That's right. Mishri Majethia and Augustya Kapadia will now be playing the roles of Chakki and Jacky respectively, as you have already seen in the promos.

In an interview with the duo, we asked about why did they cast their own kids in the show, to which J D Majethia said, "They absolutely fit the bill when we saw them doing Jacky & Chakki."

Aatish later added, "The kind of situations and the locations we have shot at were extremely difficult to shoot if we talk about the conditions. The atmosphere and the treatment of the sets were such that, had we cast some other kids, things would have been a lot more different. Because they are our own kids, we could manage and let go a lot of things, and also lead them to be disciplined, when it was needed."

J D also said, "Apart from all that, we make it a point that, whenever we cast kids in our shows, we try to make them shoot on Saturdays & Sundays, as they have school to attend on weekdays. The same would have been a lot more difficult if anyone else was cast. Because they are our own kids, we could manage a lot of things internally itself."
