Heeramandi on track: Sanjay Leela Bhansali denies rumors of reshoots

Contrary to recent reports suggesting reshoots for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's highly anticipated project, Heera Mandi, it has now been revealed that these claims hold no truth. Media outlets had previously speculated that the acclaimed filmmaker was dissatisfied with certain aspects of the footage shot so far and would take over the project as the director, deviating from the original plan of being involved in only two crucial episodes. However, reports have debunked these rumours, saying that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is delighted with the progress and development of Heera Mandi.

According to a recent report, the visionary director is satisfied with how the project is shaping up, and the production is proceeding smoothly as scheduled. 

In a statement, their team clarified, "There is no truth to these mischievous rumours. There is no reshoot. SLB is a perfectionist and pays great attention to detail, but he is very happy with everything." The ensemble cast of Heera Mandi includes acclaimed actors such as Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chaddha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Sanjeeda Sheikh, among others, who are set to deliver compelling performances in this much-anticipated series.

Heera Mandi stands as one of the most ambitious projects greenlit by Netflix and marks Sanjay Leela Bhansali's digital debut. The talented filmmaker has taken on the responsibility of directing the series' captivating opening and closing episodes, further raising the anticipation among viewers. Once Heera Mandi wraps up, Bhansali will shift his focus to his next big-screen endeavours, which could be either Inshallah or Baiju Bawra. With plans to commence filming by mid-2024, the director will fully immerse himself in the pre-production phase by the end of this year.
