Heartbreaking moments before Rajiv Kapoor’s demise: “My nurse went to wake him up, his pulse was dropping”, shares Randhir Kapoor

In an unfortunate round of events, Raj Kapoor's youngest son, Rajiv Kapoor, passed away on Tuesday, after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of 58. 

The two brothers, Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor were living together in the RK residence in Chembur.

Rajiv Kapoor suffered a cardiac arrest, following which his elder brother Randhir Kapoor rushed him to the Inlaks Hospital, near their residence in Chembur. However , the doctors unfortunately declared him dead on arrival.

Sharing heartbreaking details of the momenta right before Rajiv’s untimely demise, Randhir Kapoor tells Times of India:

"Well, I have a 24-hour nurse since I have a bit of a problem in walking due to a nerve-related issue. The nurse went to wake him up in the morning at about 7:30 am and he did not respond. She detected that his pulse was very low and dropping further. We rushed him to the hospital but all efforts to save him failed.”

"And, now I am left alone in this house", he added.

Randhir also shares that his brother Rajiv was an extremely jovial person and had no medical history.

Infact, Rajiv Kapoor was going to make his comeback after 3 long decades with Ashutosh Gowariker's film 'Toolsidas Junior', also starring Sanjay Dutt, that is yet to release. 

The Kapoor family conducted a small puja for Rajiv's chautha at the Kapoor residence. Close family members like Babita Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, Arjun Kapoor were spotted at the residence.

The Kapoor family had lost Rishi Kapoor last year and is now mourning the loss of another family member. 

“I have lost four people from my family--my mother Krishna Kapoor (October 2018), eldest sister Ritu (January 14, 2020), Rishi and now Rajiv. These four were my central core, with whom I did most of my talking," Randhir Kapoor sighs.
