When actress Helen Mirren does something, it is almost too difficult to be missed. The legendary actress has one of the most prolific careers one can imagine and at 74, it seems she is stronger than ever on her career front.

HBO recently released the much-awaited trailer of Catherine The Great that is going to be a four-part series and is set during the political tumult of Catherine the Great’s reign in Russia throughout the 18th century. The HBO/Sky production follows Catherine (Mirren) towards the end of her reign during her scandalous affair with Grigory Potemkin (Clarke).

Catherine The Great is scheduled to premiere on October 21.

In a little bit of peek into the history, Catherine II, also known as Catherine the Great, born Princess Sophie of Anhalt-Zerbst, was Empress of Russia from 1762 until 1796, the country's longest-ruling female leader. She came to power following a coup d'état that she organized—resulting in her husband, Peter III, being overthrown.
