Harshita Gaur : You need to feel a character to emote on screen

The talented actress Harshita Gaur who rose to fame with Channel V's popular youth based show Sadda Haq opposite Param Singh is also set to make her mark in the south industry. Harshita will soon be seen in upcoming Telugu action movie Falaqnumadas, which indeed is a remake of Malyalam movie Angamalay Diaries. Harshita who is also known for stents in hit web series like Mirzapur and Puncch Beat, in a candid chat with us, spoke about her character in the film, struggles with Telugu language and much more.

1. Tell us something about your character and the storyline of Falaknuma Das

I play the role of a Telugu Brahmin girl called Sakhi, a medical student who wants to pursue a career in Germany. She has set her beliefs high and is very caring and loving towards Das (played by Vishwak Sen). They share a wonderful chemistry and a little twist to the tale will make things interesting for them.

2. It is a Telugu movie, was language a barrier?

Language was a barrier and the biggest challenge. But I think challenges only makes you better with time. You need to feel a character to emote on screen

3. It is a remake of Malyaman movie Angamalay Diaries, have you seen it and how did you prepare for the role?

Yes I had seen the movie and that was the biggest hit of the year and my prime reason for doing Falaknuma Das. The role was challenging and preparations for the role was tough. I used to repeatedly hear the dialogues in my free time. My Telugu couch would send me voice notes and I used to prepare the dialogues whenever and wherever I could. Mugging up dialogues is different and perfectly emoting is is different. I used to understand what the dialogues meant and try to improvise them accordingly.

4. Do you enjoy watching South movies? Any favorites?

Yes I do enjoy them, though I haven’t seen much. One favorite is Bahubali which I think will remain my all time favorite as well. I recently saw a Tamil movie called Super Deluxe which I loved and how

For me an interesting role and an interesting character is of prime importance. Then the medium becomes secondary. The character needs to be that strong and powerful to make me say a yes to do it.
