Harshad Arora gets candid about his new show Dehleez!

He has won hearts of the audience with his role of Zain Abdullah on Colors' popular show Beintehaa and is now all set to impress the viewers with yet another role on television! Yes, we are talking about the heartthrob of television Harshad Arora who is all set to be seen as an IAS Officer in his upcoming show Dehleez on Star Plus.

It's been a long wait for his fans, who have been waiting to see him back on-screen post Beintehaa. TellyBuzz had an exclusive chat with him where he shared about his new show, his character and much more...

Tell us a bit about your role?

My role is of an IAS Officer who falls in love with Swadheenta Ramakrishnan, who is an aspiring lawyer. It's a love story and there is lots of drama to unfold which you will get to see further.  

How has your experience been, playing an IAS Officer? It's quite a different character from what you have played before...

The character is quite mature, tactful and helpful... someone who fights against corruption. This character is certainly quite different from what I have played before. There is maturity in this character; Zain was a boy, while Adarsh is a man. I had to work upon my look and acting as well.

So, was it difficult for you to get yourself involved with this character?

Not really.. but I feel that it takes some time for an actor to get involved in a new character. Initially, it takes a little time but once you get hold of the character then it becomes easier.

Can you relate yourself to the character in anyway?

It's been a great experience working with all of them. We have some great and experienced actors like Meghna Malik and Amit Ji (Amit Behl). Amit Ji and I get along really well and we hang out together. We all shoot together, eat together and its nice working with all of them. Shooting with Tridha is also fun and she also enjoys shooting with all of us. We all have a blast shooting together.

You have been busy shooting in your hometown Delhi from quite a long time. How is it going?

I like Delhi; I have been here since my childhood. I am hardly getting time to visit my home because of my busy shooting schedules but whenever I get some time or a day off, I just go back home or call my parents. It's nice shooting here.

How do you feel about your look on the show?

I am quite happy with my look on the show. I have been given a very nice and a sophisticated look with a combination of good suits. Its like a corporate look of an IAS Officer and I am quite liking it.  

Post Beintehaa, you were offered many shows and you even happened to sign a few, so what has been the reason to opt for this one?

Whatever the reason be, I feel that everything happens for the best and after getting approached for so many shows, I finally zeroed down on Dehleez. It's a big budget show and a finite series. We are shooting in Delhi and shooting on film cameras. It's a quite exciting project after Beintehaa and whatever I have been approached for post Beintehaa, were all daily soaps with the same content. I am glad that something worked out while something didn't and whatever happens, happens for good.

Your chemistry with Preetika (Preetika Rao) has been quite popular among the audience and they are still not accepting your pairing with your new co-star Tridha (Tridha Choudhary). How challenging is it for you?

It happens with every show. But once you finish one show and get into another show, the dynamics change. I feel, only the last picture remains in the minds of the audience. It was quite expected and I am not surprised by that.

How was the meet and greet session with your fans in Delhi yesterday?

It was very nice! It was good to see so many fans there. A lot of fans have been requesting me to meet them for a long time but I couldn't meet them. I was so happy to see so many fans turn up yesterday and they were also very excited to meet me.

What are your expectations from the show?

I am not expecting anything as of now. Let's see how the audience is going to take it. We are just giving our best and have created a good show. We are really excited and waiting to get the response from the audience. We are having a screening with the entire cast and crew tonight and we will be watching the first episode of the show together.

There have been reports in the media about you signing a new show? How true is that?

It's not true, till the time this show doesn't get over; I won't sign anything.

The countdown has begun, so wait for the show to go on-air. I am sure that you will all love it, so finger crossed and hoping for the best.
