The handsome and heartthrob of Television, Nakuul Mehta turns 36 today. We have seen him in different shades. From playing the sweet and adorable Aditya to angry young man Shivaay, the actor is a stunner. But he is more than what he portrays on-screen. He made his television debut with Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara and became an overnight sensation and went on to add more feathers to his cap.

And so, we present his journey till date:

Birth and Family

Nakuul who was born on 17th January, 1983 in Udaipur, Rajasthan, has a Royal bloodline. He is a descendant of the Rajput King Prithviraj Chauhan of Ajmer. Also, he hails from a family of fighters, his father Pratap Singh Mehta is a veteran of the Indo-Pakistani War 1971 while his great-great grandfather Laxmilal Mehta was the military-in-chief of the Mewar region.

Education and Skills

Apart from acting, he is a trained dancer. You'll be amazed to know, the actor is a trained ballroom dancer and has won many accolades for his performance. And for the very reason, he is our 'prince charming'.

Bollywood Debut

Unlike other actors, Nakuul tasted the glamorous life of movie industry even before his debut in Television. He appeared in a movie titled Abhimaani in 2005 and made his proper Bollywood debut with Haal-E-Dil in 2008. After that, he did commercials, music videos and went on to appear in a short film, Avant Garde Pythagoras Sharma, until he turned to Television.

Television Stardom

In 2012, his debut show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai...Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara... gave him recognition in the industry, making him a star overnight. In the same year, he married his wife Jankee Parekh, who is a singer. He hosted Colors' talent reality show India's Got Talent in 2015. And finally, he received the opportunity to play Shivaay Singh Oberoi in Ishqbaaaz, which acted as a breakthrough of his career. Though the show focused on the life of three brothers but it was Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna's onscreen chemistry that did the magic.

Into the Digital Space

He appeared in Arre's web Series I Don't Watch TV.

Awards and Recognition

He has won four Best actor Awards for Pyaar Ka Dard. He also received the Best Anchor award for India's Got Talent and more than 10 Awards for Ishqbaaaz including Best Actor and Best Jodi along with actress Surbhi Chandna.
