God has given me the best birthday gift: Kanika Maheshwari

Beautiful Kanika Maheshwari, who is currently enjoying a new phase of her life as she has stepped into the phase of motherhood, is celebrating her birthday today.

The popular actress who is known for playing the witty Meenakshi on Star Plus' popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum is not shooting today and looking forward to have a best birthday celebration with the best gift of her life - her little bundle of joy.

On the occasion of her birthday, TellyBuzz spoke to Kanika to know more about the feeling of motherhood, her baby and her birthday plans.

Talking about the feeling of motherhood and how is she managing her shoots and taking care of her son, Kanika told us, "The feeling of motherhood is the best thing in the world and I am also growing along with my little one. Bringing a new life in the world is the best feeling. I go on the shoot and I keep on calling at my place to ask about my baby. There are a lot of people at my home who take care of him; my helper is there and Ankur and my Mom are also there to take care of him."  

We also asked Kanika about the name of her son. She answered, "His name is Riyansh Ghai which means a ray of light and his nickname is Nanak."

Kanika who was on a maternity leave for some days received a nice welcome on sets when she returned to work mode. She said, "My entire crew was very happy to see me back after the leave and everybody welcomed me with hugs and smiles and congratulated me."

Talking about her birthday celebrations and plans, Kanika added, "This time I am celebrating my birthday with my little one and it's going to be wonderful because God has given me the best gift on my birthday. I am not shooting today and I am celebrating my birthday at my home only. My friends will come at my place in the evening and we will chill together and play with the little one. Ankur got a birthday cake, a bouquet and a nice gift for me for my birthday and that's how we celebrated last night."
