Gautam Buddha on TV; Jackie Shroff to play King Ashoka

Swaminarayan Entertainment, a new production house owned by Mr. Vijay Kamble of The National Congress Party will soon be coming with a historical show on the journey of Gautam Bhuddha.

Our Source from the industry tells us, "The production house has done its ground work and is ready with their basic presentation. They have got their basic cast and have also zeroed in on the locations of the shoot. The journey of Gautam Bhudha will be principal focus. The story will also focus on King Ashoka who played a vital role in spreading Bhuddhisam."

We hear that prominent actor Jackie Shroff will play King Ashoka. The casting of Buddha will be done on a national level. The production house is now pitching the show to top GEC's and expects to go on floor in December. When contacted Rekha Vaidya, Project Head confirmed the news and said, "Yes we are planning a historical on the life of Buddha. We are done with the research work and are in process of finalizing the channel. We have approached Jackie Shroff to play King Ashoka. He will have a vital role to play as Ashoka was a carrier of Buddha's work".

We hear that the production house is in talks with Zee TV for the show. However, Rekha refuse this and said," It is going to be a top channel for sure. But we have not yet decided on the channel".

We are now waiting to see Gautam Buddha on television.
