Gaurav Khanna of Anupamaa: I don't get overwhelmed by success and don't get undermined by failure

Entering a daily soap mid-way, especially one that is a TRP topper, can go both ways and while most actors might have their own apprehensions, some simply believe in their skills, and their performance. Gaurav Khanna aka Anuj Kapadia of Star Plus' Anupamaa, seems to be one of the latter as he spoke to India Forums about the same and has a rather insightful answer to the question.

While he admits that such entries can go either ways, he also has more to say. He tells us, ''It can actually go both ways and I agree to it, but I feel that I have been an actor for some years in the industry and I have a body of work behind me, and I always believe that every character has his own journey and own graph. Also, it depends on the actor who is performing that character, so I have never thought this way that is this pressure, or if I am working with different people mid-way in a show.''

He added, ''I always believe that if I am honest to my character and trust my creators and makers, and if they have chosen me for a particular character, they know who they are casting and they have seen that element in me and that is why they have gone through the due process and long hours of discussions and then finalized on me. So I take a step ahead from their belief in me and that has worked for me ever since I have been in this field and I am that sort of an actor who does not take pressure and do my best and leave the rest on almighty, sometimes things work, sometimes they don't, so I don't get overwhelmed by success and don't get undermined by failure.''

So far, Anuj and Anupamaa have managed to create quite a stir and it has in fact, also left everyone shipping the duo. Currently, Anupama seems to be in a different mess as she tries to protect herself and her business partner from comments of the society, and as a result, she has stepped out of the Shah house and decided to move into a rented flat.
