Gandhada Gudi: Puneeth Rajkumar's last onscreen appearance to release on his birth anniversary

The documentary film Gandhadagudi: Journey of a Real Hero, starring the late actor Puneeth Rajkumar "Karnataka Ratna," has been given an official OTT release date. Amoghavarsha, a wildlife photographer-turned-director, will release Puneeth Rajkumar's final movie on Amazon Prime Video on March 17.

The film is a documentary play about the fauna and flora of the state of Karnataka. Puneeth Rajkumar was approached by young wildlife award-winning director Amoghavarsha to star in his film "Gandhada Gudi" because it is well known that he is an avid traveller who loves to experience the globe, particularly nature, in every manner imaginable.

On the anniversary of the actor's birth, the movie that won over audiences in theatres and provides an intriguing look into Puneeth's unusual family history will be released. Puneeth's father is the renowned actor Dr. Rajkumar.

Talking about his film, the actor's wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar said, "The film was Appu’s dream project and he always wanted to do something about environmental conservation. The film was showered with an overwhelmingly positive response by Appu’s fans and audiences in Karnataka, and we felt it was a natural progression for the world to witness this beautiful journey. We are grateful to everyone who has supported us throughout the journey of this film."

For the unversed, Kannada superstar, Puneeth Rajkumar, known for his work in films like 'Power' and 'Yuvarathnaa' has passed away after suffering from a serious cardiac arrest. He was 46.
