New Delhi, March 22 (IANS) American author Suzaane Collins' novel "The Hunger Games" for young adults was launched here in the run-up to the release of its big screen adaptation. Former Indian cricket captain Krish Srikkanth said the film will be "as good" as 'Harry Potter'".

"We've launched the book and as well as the movie - The Hunger Games. The movie will be as good as Harry Potter," said Srikkanth, who launched the book Wednesday. It was followed by the premiere of the movie.

"The Hunger Games" is a science fiction action-drama directed by Gary Ross and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Lenny Kravitz and Donald Sutherland. The movie is set hit the theatres Friday.

"We are delighted to be the first ones to host a special book launch and an exclusive premiere of the movie ahead of its national release. This movie is a spectacular adaptation of the science-fiction novel with exciting action drama," said Anant Verma, business head and director, DT cinemas.

The launch saw some of the prominent page three names like former FDCI executive direcctor Sumeet Nair, socialite Ambika Shukla, model Indrani Das Gupta and designer duo Meera and Muzaffar Ali.
