The Mumbai Police on Tuesday lodged a fresh FIR against producers of the ‘HotShots’ app - owned by businessman Raj Kundra - in connection with the ‘pornographic’ film racket. While the FIR names four producers and an actress, it has no mention of Raj Kundra
Actress Gehana Vasisth, who had been arrested in February, has also been named as one of the accused in the case.
Reportedly, the actress has been out on bail and had shared the name of Umesh Kamat in the case through which Raj Kundra’s links to the racket were found. She was part of the initial series of arrests made by the Crime Branch earlier this year along with actor Roya Khan alias Yasmeen, photographer Monu Sharma, actors Bhanu Thakur, Arish Shaikh, and creative director Pratibha Nalawade.
According to the Crime Branch’s statement to the court, several victims were coming forward to record their statements in the case. The statements and investigation had brought forward the name of two more accused, Yash Thakur and Pardeep Bakshi, whose roles had also been confirmed in the racket, reported RepublicWorld.
The latest FIR was lodged on the basis of a complaint by a Mumbai-based model who told the Mumbai Police Crime Branch, that she was promised a ‘break’ in a big-budget Hindi film and made to act in adult movies.
Police officials asked the model to file an official complaint in this regard. The FIR has been registered at Malvani police station since the alleged incident took place under that division.
The filing of a fresh case against HotShots seems to put Raj Kundra and his company in a difficult spot and more trouble seems to be mounting for the businessman.
