Film lobby holds fast in support of Sri Lankan Tamils

Chennai, Nov 5 (IANS) The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) Wednesday held a hunger strike against the alleged attacks on Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Chennai, Nov 5 (IANS) The Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) Wednesday held a hunger strike against the alleged attacks on Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Members of FEFSI representing various vocations of the film industry sat on fast condemning the violence against Tamils in Sri Lanka.

The FEFSI is the third Tamil film industry union to protest against the issue.

In the recent past political parties and different organisations have been holding meetings in support of Sri Lankan Tamils.

On Oct 19, the Tamil film producers and directors organised a rally in Rameswaram. It was followed by formation of a human chain Oct 24 in which Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, his cabinet colleagues and film industry people took part.

On Nov 1, the members of South Indian Artistes Association held an eight hour fast.
