‘Favouritism in Bollywood is there,’ says Rumana Molla as she talks about favoritism in Bollywood

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sad demise has sent shockwaves across the nation and fans have been mourning the loss of a talented actor. Many believed the late actor wasn’t treated equally and it has stimulated an uproar on social media. Netizens have raised their voices against ‘Nepotism,’ ‘Bollywood’s lobby culture,’ and ‘favoritism in Bollywood.’

Many actors and filmmakers including - Anubahv Sinha, Hansal Mehta, Taapsee Pannu and Abhay Deol have spoken volumes about the issues they have faced and what fellow actors face who were unable to voice their opinions. Now, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 actor Rumana Molla talked about favoritism in Bollywood.

During a recent interview, she said, “Favouritism in Bollywood, is there. Every single person who is not from the industry has experienced it in some way or the other. It's almost something that is unhealthy for us to think about if you go into that rabbit hole then there’s nothing positive to get out of it. For me to think about it makes no sense. But, yes it’s there. You’re confronted with it on a daily basis and you have to make peace with it. And probably the best way to deal with that is work on yourself and to work on your skills and also not to take anything personally.”

“People who are treating you a certain way tomorrow, they will be treating you completely differently. The only thing that you can do is work on yourself. So that's what I choose to focus on,” Rumana Molla added. 

Rumana is all set to be seen in Virgin Bhanupriya where she will be seen alongside Urvashi Rautela. Talking about her experience the Irada actress said, “It was fun to work with Urvashi, she is her own person, she has a lot of poise and a lot of grace and she is extremely beautiful and it was a fun experience to work with someone like that.” 

Meanwhile, on the work front Rumana Molla will be seen in Zindagi Teen Din which is directed by Nikhil Agnihotri and How to Kill Your Husband where she will be seen working alongside Aahana Kumra. Apart from that she is currently working on the series Dev DD. However, she has been waiting to get back to work as soon as lockdown is lifted.
