EXPLAINED: The FALLING ratings & CRAZE of 'Bigg Boss 12'

Bigg Boss 12 continues to be the guilty pleasure of many out there, and 12 years of the show's resounding success is the proof of that. Usually, around September or October, fans have their schedule customized for the next 100 days or so on not to miss a single episode of the reality show.

There have been good seasons, there have been bad seasons, but Bigg Boss 12 is an anomaly in itself. Why is that? Beginning with smashing numbers in the first week, the show saw a minor decline in the next week. However, in the next couple of weeks, the numbers kept going down and this past week saw the show clocking 1.9 points.

Here, we try and discuss what's going wrong for the show and is there any chance for it to get some retribution-

The Declining Numbers

From clocking around 2.7 points to now falling to 1.9 points, the journey in the first 4 weeks hasn't been a pretty one. Of course, 1.9 is still in no way bad numbers, but the trend is a worrisome factor. If this continues to be, anything less than 1.6 will be bad news.

The Interest Is Fading

We do not deny that the show, even after 12 years, generates a buzz as not many do. However that, just like the movies is about having an initial craze. That craze and buzz will lead the viewers to watch the first few episodes for sure, but then it is the show's job to sustain. Bigg Boss 12 doesn't seem to be doing that, and even though there are vintage Bigg Boss moments, the interest is not there.

The Contestants

On paper, the list of contestants looked really promising, where popular TV names like Karanvir Bohra and Dipika Kakar signed up for the show. However, now that a few weeks have passed by, the overall impact is not as good as the previous seasons managed to exhibit. Yes, there are fights, there are arguments, but the chemistry and personalities are disappointing.

There Is Hope

But, as we said, it's not a lost cause altogether as even the fallen numbers are fairly decent. The little spark of Srishty Rode being pushed by Saba did create some stir in and outside the house, but the show certainly needs a lot more than that to regain the lost interest and viewership.

Will this fight or the changing equations finally lead make Bigg Boss 12 spicy enough? We can only wait and watch.

I think it's high time bigg boss should bring manu Panjabi n Arshi Khan as wild cards earlier they were commoner this season they can be celebs n bigg boss trp will also increase

There is lot of bias. Celebs sneeze it becomes an issue while commonor get do anything and get away. Without fault celebs are bullied. The host keeps bullying a popular contestant in the name of fun. It's definitely disappointing for the audiences. Then throwing out a potential contestant celeb just because her way dealing people is calm. The one who gets less votes is kept because they create fights. No value of voting.

There are many reasons why this season is losing interest :

1) Commoners are more in number of celebrities - nobody is interested to watch a commoners game in BB, everybody wants celebrities.

2) Commoners are being favoured and it's being seen glaringly.

3) Commoners have done PhD in BB and so is picking up forced fights and audience is not interested to watch no reason fights.

4) Celebrities who have come are not being given screen space.

5) A strong contestant is missing.
6) No fun moments are shown.
7) No luxury budget discussions are shown.

BB partial to commoners..not a fair contest with 2 people against one, commoners getting away with murders while celebraties treated unfair, fights have no logic or reasons,

After the awesome BB11, watching this season is a pain, downright boring, too many fake commoners and less known celebrities, contestants are so bored they don't even dance in the morning music, yawn.

I'm a hardcore BB fan and I watched the first few episodes but when I read on various portals that almost all the so called commoners are actually fake, I was hurt. So basically they're trying to sell us a lie. What else can be expected out of a disgusting, below standard and crap channel like Colors. The whole channel should shut down imho.
