Sir Roger Moore who played the character of James Bond dies at the age of 89.

Actor Sir Roger Moore who was known for essaying the character of international fiction spy character James Bond left for heavenly abode at the age of 89.

The actor's family posted about the same on the twitter stating he left everyone after a short - strong battle with cancer!

A report quoted his children saying, "Thank you Pops for being you, and being so very special to so many people." (sic)

"The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone." (sic)

"Our thoughts must now turn to supporting Kristina [Tholstrup, his wife] at this difficult time." (sic)

"We know our own love and admiration will be magnified many times over, across the world, by people who knew him for his films, his television shows and his passionate work for UNICEF which he considered to be his greatest achievement." (sic)
