Actress Esha Deol, known for her acting prowess and impressive dancing skills, stepped into the world of cinema in 2002. Among her noteworthy filmography, "Dhoom" stands out as a significant project. Released in 2004, the movie featured Esha alongside Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Uday Chopra, and Rimi Sen.
In "Dhoom," Esha portrayed a distinctive character, as her role involved portraying a clever and alluring member of a motorbike gang notorious for their daring heists.
However not many know about Esha asking permission from her mom to wear a bikini for the film.
In a candid conversation with Zoom, Esha shared her experience of seeking her mother's approval to wear a bikini for the film. She fondly recounted, and said, “Of course, I had to take permission from my mum about (the bikini). I felt I needed to take it, but when I went and asked, she asked me, ‘Are you seriously asking me something like this? Don’t you go on holidays with friends and wear a bikini on a beach?’ and I know that the people who I was shooting with, I was in good hands.”
Esha went on to mention that her genetic built helped her in the physical preparation for the role. With a natural athleticism and a favorable physique, she embraced the challenge of meeting the expectations of producer Aditya Chopra and pleasing the audience.
Since her film Hijack was released in 2008, Esha has been on and off work. We last saw her in the short film Ek Duaa directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee.
