Ekta Kapoor FINALIZES the female lead for her next show!

However, recently, Ekta announced her entry into the digital medium where she plans to launch her own app presenting exclusive content. And the process to it is on in full swing, as her upcoming web series, which is about the first woman to be inducted in a combat role in the Indian Army, is in works.

As intriguing as it sounds, Ekta has finalized the lead of the show. And that is none other than, powerhouse actress, Nimrat Kaur. Yes. That's right!

According to a leading news daily, Nimrat has been roped in the play the lead role which will directed by acclaimed director, Nagesh Kukunoor.

Ekta mentioned that the promise to break stereotypes with the launch of her digital app is what they are banking on. She also said that Nimrat is known for her unconventional choices while Nagesh is known for his alternative style of filmmaking and that makes it an exciting duo.

Nimrat mentioned that post her stint in the American TV show, 'Homeland', she was looking for something that pushes her as an actor and this series is set in the backdrop of Indian Army. And courtesy her defense background she got hooked to the show's concept instantly. The reason she partnered with Ekta is the fact that they share the common belief about shaking up digital entertainment with power-packed, strong and brave content.
