Actress Parul Chaudhary has been on the tube for a long time now where she has appeared in various episodic shows apart from roles in shows like 'Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev' and 'Tere Mere Sapne'.
The actress is currently seen in the popular show, 'Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani' co-starring Siddhant Karnick and Drashti Dhami. However, she seems to be balancing the best of both worlds fantastically, as her short film, 'Watermelon' is set to be screened at a film festival in New York. The film was screened at Cannes film festival last year.
A delighted Parul said, "This film is the only Indian film to be selected for screening at the film festival in New York, which makes it a proud moment. It has been doing the rounds of various festivals now and has also been premiered on NDTV short films in India.
The film is about a girl and a boy living opposite each other. The girl faces domestic violence and seeks help from the boy, however, another twist unfolds. The theme of the film is that everyone has a grey character."
Talking about other plans, she said, "I am doing another short film, 'The Broken Mirror' where I play the goddess of death. And the interesting part about it is that the look of it is a punky one. That doesn't happen much. (laughs)."
When we went a little off the topic and asked about her current show on TV, Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, she clarified, "All of us were shocked when these rumours were surfacing around. But, the whole team had a meeting and we sat down together, where the makers clarified that the show is not going off-air. The TRP concerns and everything related to it is now getting better. So, I am glad its not happening."
