Does Niharika Chouksey feel Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si has an unfair advantage over Faltu? Actress answers

Niharika Chouksey, who essays the character of Faltu in Star Plus' popular show 'Faltu' rose to fame with her stint. The 17-year-old actress had an exclusive conversation with us and expressed her disappointment. She also commented on fans of the show showing their disappointment and stating that Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si was given an unfair advantage. 

The show was on the verge of being shut down but has abruptly received an extension. How overwhelming is it?

After receiving an extension, there was still hope left. All our fans were pleased, and we, too, were delighted. But we received the extension for an extent. Whatever happens, happens for the good. It has been unfair to us, and we can see it, But it is okay. 

Fans of your show have been stating that a big production house like DKP has produced Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si and hence has an unfair advantage over your show. Do you agree with this? 

No, I will not call it an unfair advantage. DKP is a big production house, and I have worked with them before Faltu. They gave me a chance to work with them, so I can't say they have had an unfair advantage. But they have been in showbiz for so long and have given such hit shows, and I will not call it an advantage; they deserve it. But yes, this has been a disadvantage to us that our producer was new. 

What was your reaction when you received the news of the show going off air, and what was your response on knowing that the show has received an extension?

It was very disheartening for me. Because when your TRPs are down, you know you have to buckle up because the show has not been doing great. But our ratings were excellent, and we have been in the top 5. There have been a lot of other shows that have been underperforming, so I did not expect our show to go off the air at all. But then, in the end, it is the channel's call, and I respect their decision. 

What is that one thing, according to you, that makes the audience connect with your show?

People can only guess what will happen next in our show if our writers and producers think very differently. Because they have given quite a lot of hit Bengali shows, the storyline of our show has always been spontaneous, and no one could ever guess what would happen next, which would keep the audience hooked. 

There was also news of the show receiving a new time slot. What is the truth behind the same? 

Yes, we also felt the same. But as of now, we have yet to receive any such news. We will shoot for the last episode of our show on the 15th-16th of August, so there will be no slot change. But I hope we receive a new time slot because we have a loyal audience. If this happens, people will still watch the show. 

What about the show will you miss the most? 

I will miss everything. This was my first lead show, so it was very close to my heart. So, I will miss everyone. I will miss being Faltu the most. I will miss everyone on sets. Aakash and Shrishti were my people, and I know our friendship will continue even after the show.
