Dilip Kumar undergoes successful pleural aspiration procedure, To be discharged tomorrow

Legendary Bollywood icon, Dilip Kumar was hospitalised after he complained of breathing issues. He was then diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion.

In the latest update coming on his health, Dilip Kumar has undergone a successful pleural aspiration procedure. Faisal Farooqui, a family friend shared the news through the actor’s official Twitter handle.

Post the successful procedure, the 98-year-old actor is expected to be discharged tomorrow. Faisal shared the update by tweeting:

"Thank you for your prayers. A successful pleural aspiration procedure was performed on Dilip Saab. I personally spoke to Dr Jalil Parkar and Dr Nitin Gokhale. "They are optimistic that he will be discharged tomorrow (Thursday).”

The veteran star is under treatment at the suburban Khar-based Hinduja Hospital, a non-Covid-19 facility, since Sunday.

In a career spanning five decades, Dilip Kumar has been a part of many iconic films like Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Naya Daur and Ram Aur Shyam. His last big screen appearance was the 1998 film Qila.
