Dilip Kumar health update: ‘Breathlessness subdued, continues to be on oxygen support’: Doctors

Legendary Bollywood actor Dilip Kumar is currently recuperating in the Hinduja Hospital in Khar, Mumbai. He has been diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion and is currently on oxygen support in the ICU ward.

As of Wednesday, the doctors have shared an update on the veteran actor’s health. Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating Dilip Kumar at the suburban hospital said:

“Dilip Kumar's health is improving and the problem of breathlessness has also subdued, but he continues to be on oxygen support."

On Monday, the doctors had confirmed that Kumar’s health is stable and clarified that though he is in the ICU, he is not on a ventilator.

A day ago, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu shared a picture of him from the hospital on his official Twitter handle, and also penned a note as she urged fans to not believe in rumours. She wrote:

“Past few days my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, has been unwell and recuperating at a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers and for all the love and affection. My husband, my kohinoor, Dilip Kumar Sahab’s health is stable and doctors have assured me that he should be discharged soon.”

She added:

“I urge you to not believe in rumors. While I ask you to pray for Sahab’s I am praying that the Almighty keep all of you safe and healthy during this pandemic. Sincerely, Saira Banu Khan.”

The 98 year old actor is likely to be discharged in a few days.
