During the Cannes red carpet event, Tom Cruise spoke with The Hollywood Reporter. The journalist commented, “I’d want everyone to see this movie. Maybe the final reckoning, maybe not, but what…" Cruise interrupted, stating, “It’s the final," and then added, “It’s not called final for nothing."

Even with that statement, Cruise also expressed his enthusiasm for filmmaking during the interview. Discussing his career aspirations, he mentioned to THR that he intends to continue making films well into his eighties, even aiming for his hundreds. He emphasized his commitment to action, drama, and comedy, stating his excitement for future projects.

Even so, he didn't confirm if Mission: Impossible would be part of his future plans, leaving fans curious and emotional about the potential final adventure for the iconic super spy.
