Dia Mirza Opens Up About her Divorce: Derived strength from my parents’ Separation!

Dia Mirza shocked the world after she announced her separation with ex-husband Sahil Sangha. The two were known to set marriage goals with their adorable photos and impeccable chemistry. In a recent interaction, she opened up about her divorce and how she managed to strengthen herself amidst the desolation of a lively relationship which was admired by a significant number of people. 

Talking to Mumbai Mirror, she insisted on moving on from covering her separation and emphasized that despite being a celebrity even she senses pain. She also highlighted how her parents' separation has strengthened her for 34 years. 

My privilege as a celebrity doesn’t disallow me pain. I derived strength from my parents’ separation 34 years ago. I told myself that if I could handle it at four-and-a-half, there’s no reason why, at 37, I wouldn’t be able to. Men and women hesitate to take certain decisions because they’re afraid, you have to find the courage to believe that this too shall pass.

Dia seems to believe in personal healing and underlines the fact that she does not believe in holding grudges. She also explained how her daily routine has helped her getting over her troubles and evolving as a peaceful person. 

I vent, then return to my serene self. I’ve been meditating since 14 years and my mornings are spent in the building garden. Even my home is full of lush greenery, with birds and bees visiting. Otherwise, the city gets to you—so many angry people around, including the media.

On the work front, Dia will be seen starring alongside Taapsee Pannu in their upcoming film Thappad. The film is directed by Anubhav Sinha and it is all set to hit the theaters on February 28, 2020.

Apart from that, Dia made her digital debut last year with a web show, Kaafir.
