Deepika-Vikrant CONFIRMED to star in Meghna Gulzar's next!

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has already started working post her marriage ceremonies. She made a staggering entry for this year with 'Padmaavat'. Recently Deepika announced her next film wherein she will take a step ahead and venture as co-producer. She will star in Meghna Gulzar's next based on acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.

Amidst rumors of Rajkummar Rao starring opposite Deepika in the film, it has been confirmed that Vikrant Massey has been cast in the film. He will play the role of Laxmi's partner Alok Dixit. As the reports suggest, the film has been titled Chhapaak.

Earlier today, film critic Taran Adarsh took to his twitter handle and revealed the title for Meghna's next.

During a media interaction, director Meghna Gulzar said "The cast is slowly coming together. Vikrant is somebody I've wanted to work with since Raazi, after seeing him in A Death in the Gunj. In the film, he plays a North Indian boy who used to be a professional before he decided to become an actor, then, started a campaign against acid violence which is how he came to meet Laxmi in real life. I speak for both Deepika and myself when I say that we are both really excited to have Vikrant play this part."

Further, she also revealed that the film will be shot in Mumbai and Delhi and prosthetics tests are underway. She also mentioned that during the research for the film the only person who came to her mind to play the lead role is Deepika.
