Deepika’s Chhapaak Reminds Kangana of sister Rangoli’s Acid Attack, Shares Emotional Video

Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming film Chhapaak discusses the life and struggles of acid attack survivors with a powerful story. Starring Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in lead roles, the film is based on real-life acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, and the film is an attempt to bring about change in the way society looks at these warriors and also bring about awareness about acid abuse.

The trailer and hard-hitting songs have already created an impressive mark amongst the audience, and fans cannot wait to witness the powerful story, soon to be released in the theatres. While the film’s trailer has been receiving a lot of good reviews from critics and audiences, actress Kangana Ranaut too, took an opportunity to thank Deepika and Meghna Gulzar for making a film on this serious issue in the form of an emotional video.

The Panga actress revealed that the trailer of Chhapaak reminded her of the unfortunate acid attack faced by her sister Rangoli. She stated that the film is a tight slap on the face of people who acid abuse and she expresses her gratitude towards the film’s team for making a powerful film on an issue that needs to be discussed. Kangana thanked DP and the team of Chhapaak with an emotional video.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel wrote “The pain still lingers. Our family thanks team #chhapaak for a story that needs to be told! @deepikapadukone @meghnagulzar @foxstarhindi.”

Earlier, Rangoli had shared her acid attack story and revealed that she was attacked in Dehradun, where she was pursuing engineering. She had stated that at the same time her sister Kangana was physically assaulted and almost beaten to death.

“Shortly after this image was clicked, the guy whose proposal I refused threw one litre acid on my face, I had to go through 54 surgeries strangely and simultaneously my little sister was physically assaulted and almost beaten to death for what ?” Rangoli had shared on Twitter.
