Deepika Padukone's Gehraiyaan certified 'A' without a single cut

Director Shakun Batra's Gehraiyaan starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Dhairya Karwa, will be releasing tomorrow. The premiere of the film took place on Wednesday night, with the stars dressed to the nines.

The Central Board of Film Certification has given Gehraiyaan an 'A' certificate ahead of its distribution on streaming platform Amazon Prime Video. The film was cleared by the CBFC without a single cut.

However, after watching Shakun Batra's directorial, the Examining Committee suggested a few changes. The EC's suggestions were apparently followed, and the picture now has an 'Adults Only' certificate. Gehraiyaan has been making waves for its personal and kissing moments since the trailer was released.

In fact, it is the first Hindi film to be recognised with an Intimacy Director. Shakun Batra, on the other hand, claims that closeness has been handled as a character. He also believes that intimacy has been overvalued; Batra has previously stated,

"I believe there are more debates about intimacy than the tale probably warrants."

Deepika, on the other hand, had highlighted the film's most important message. 

"One thing I've learned from this film is to never pass judgement since everyone has a reason for doing what they do. Empathy emerges as soon as you comprehend the emotion or cognitive process that led to the behaviour "

She added that the script which she heard two years ago was slightly different and they added more layers to it during the lockdown.

Jointly produced by Dharma Productions & Viacom18 Studios in association with Jouska Films, Gehraiyaan is a relationship drama about complex modern relationships.
