Deepika Padukone Reveals the Truth behind Hrithik Roshan playing Lord Krishna in Mahabharat

After essaying the role of the beautiful queen Rani Padmavati, Deepika Padukone is all set to play the role of her lifetime as Draupadi in Mahabharat. She will not only essay the role of Draupadi in Mahabharat but will also co-produce the movie with Madhu Mantena. 

The film was announced in October and trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted about the same, "BIGGG NEWS... Deepika Padukone to enact the part of #Draupadi in #Mahabharat... Deepika has teamed up with Madhu Mantena to produce the film... Will be made in multiple parts, with the first one slated for release in #Diwali2021" 

Ever since the news surfaced online, there were high speculations that Hrithik Roshan will be playing Lord Krishna in the mythological drama, Mahabharat, and these rumors definitely got all fans excited.

Also, Deepika had taken the Internet by storm with her ‘Death by chocolate’ tweet for Hrithik. “@iHrithik in WAR is like Death by Chocolate from Corner House!... Just Saying…” the actress had written on Twitter. 

And later, a video of Hrithik feeding chocolate to DP went viral, which had further added weight of the two actors collaborating for Mahabharat. However, in a recent interview, the actress had finally put an end to these rumors.

Reacting to the news of Hrithik Roshan playing Lord Krishna in Mahabharat, Deepika said, "These are mere rumors and I have no clue about who is spreading it. All I know is that the movie Draupadi is still being worked upon. In fact, we haven’t finalized the script of the movie yet. As of now, we are looking for a talented director for the movie. Once the director is finalized, we will move towards the next step” as quoted by Amar Ujala.

Well, this might be heartbreaking news for the fans. 

Also talking about her viral video with Hrithik and when asked whether any filmmaker has approached the duo for a film, Padukone replied, “I mean not yet, but I’m hoping some writer or some director somewhere has seen that and is thinking of some sort of script with the two of us. We both hope, in fact, the same night (when the video was made) we were talking and we both look forward to working with each other. So yea, let’s hope for something amazing will happen for us.”

So, this is a sign of relief and we can hope to see the two actors share screen space anytime soon!

Meanwhile, Deepika is currently busy promoting her upcoming film, Chhapaak. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film also features Vikrant Massey in a pivotal role and is based on the life of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
