Debina Bonnerjee Choudhary set to participate in Pati Patni Aur Panga, says 'Bigg Boss is not our cup of tea'

Colors TV is all set to launch a brand-new reality show titled Pati Patni Aur Panga – Jodiyon Ka Reality Check, and one of the most loved couples, Debina Bonnerjee and Gurmeet Choudhary, will be taking part. The two, who became household names after playing Ram and Sita in Ramayan, are returning to TV as a pair after many years, making this show even more exciting for their fans.

In an exclusive conversation with India Forums, actress Debina talks about her decision to participate in the upcoming reality show. She shares what drew her to the show's concept, how it feels to collaborate on-screen once again with her husband Gurmeet, and much more.

What made you say yes to Pati Patni Aur Panga?

The concept and timing just felt right. It was the perfect opportunity to try something fresh. We've been part of so many reality shows, and Bigg Boss has never really been our cup of tea. And honestly, it's always a joy to be part of something with Gurmeet, that energy, that cheer, it's unmatched.

What was your first reaction when you saw the promo of Pati Patni Aur Panga? Did you and Gurmeet watch it together?

Yes, absolutely. It was Gurmeet who came and told me, "The promo is out, let's watch it." That's how we ended up watching it together, and we instantly loved it. Since we had such a great time shooting it, watching the promo just brought back all those fun memories. It truly captured the vibe we felt on set.

How much fun was it shooting?

As I mentioned, it was super fun and everything just flowed smoothly. We genuinely enjoyed the process, and working together made it even more special.

What's the one "panga" you always win at home, and the one where Gurmeet never backs down?

If I say yes, it's a yes. Period. Full stop. But when Gurmeet takes a stand, let's just say there's no changing his mind either.

The show is set to premiere on August 2, 2025, and will be hosted by Sonali Bendre and Munawar Faruqui. Along with Debina and Gurmeet, other celebrity couples joining the show include Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla, Hina Khan and Rocky Jaiswal, and Avika Gor with her fiancé Milind Chandwani and more. In this unique format, real-life celebrity couples will face fun and revealing tasks that test their understanding, teamwork, and emotional bond.
