DD To Re-Air Irrfan Khan's Cult Show Shrikant

Actor Irrfan Khan's sudden demise has left the entertainment industry and fans shocked. For those who do not know the actor has featured in many television shows as well before making his mark in Bollywood.

Doordarshan has decided to re-air the actor's iconic show, Shrikant on the channel post the actor's death. 

The official channel of DD aired the promo and tweeted, "Watch your favorite #IrrfanKhan in Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's #Shrikant, this afternoon at 3:30 pm on @DDNational.

Apart from Irfan Khan, the show featured Farooq Sheikh, Sujata Mehta, Mrinal Kulkarni among others.

Shrikant, which is set in the late 19th to early 20th century India, was aired on Doordarshan from 1985-1986 revolved around Shrikant, who meets Raj Lakshmi (Sujata) - a nurse who treats him while he gets affected by the plague. Later, in Burma, he meets Abhaya (Mrinal), a woman who was abandoned by her husband, the character that was played by Irrfan Khan. 

The actor was also seen in shows like Chanakya, Bharat Ek Khoj, Sara Jahan Hamara, Chandrakanta amongst others.
