Dance Face-off between Mumbai and Kolkata..

Six Mumbai TV girls head to Kolkata for a reality dance competition which will be aired on a soon to be launched Bengali channel..

Reality dance shows seem to be a major component of TV content. Hence even regional channels are jumping on the bandwagon. A soon-to-be-launched Bengali channel has come up with a new concept where six Mumbai TV girls will clash with six Kolkata TV girls in a show called Dance Pe Chance. This show will be among the first to be launched on the new channel.

"Veteran choreographer and permanent dance show judge Saroj Khan will be one of the two judges, and the other will be Vikram Ghosh from Kolkata", says a source.

Sayantani Ghosh, Jaswir Kaur, Barkha Bhist, Sai Deodhar, Mouni Roy and Reshmi Ghosh will represent Mumbai. However Mouni says that she has not yet signed the contract, "I will take a call soon". Rupali Ganguly's name was also discussed but she opted out.  "I had been approached but could not do it to due to certain reasons. But I am willing to do a special episode as it would entail dancing with good friend Jassi".

Naagin Sayantani who is on a sabbatical said, "It's an interesting concept which will have many dance forms. There will be different rounds, for example introductory round, black and white etc."  She further admits that the fact that she alone has done Bengali films will rank her above her team compatriots.

Sai Deodhar returning to reality shows after Nach Baliye 2 says "Working away from Mumbai is a bit tough as you don't have relatives to comfort you after the performance. My parents and husband are my biggest emotional anchors".

Reshmi Ghosh fresh after Nach Baliye 4 says, "This concept is fun as it  involves us girl  as a team and we all know each other.  She further added that this show will have no elimination. Unlike other girls Reshmi will not need to travel to Kolkata as she is already there shooting for a Bengali film with Rohit Roy.

A source did admit that being a Bengal based channel, the Mumbai team might have problem with SMS votes. But that should be ironed out soon. Plus most of our Mumbai team has a bong connection. Sayantani, Mouni and Reshmi are Bengalis, while Sai's mother is a Bengali. Barkha has married a Bengali and Jaswir is the only non bong connection in the show. The shoot for the show will commence from next month, informs our source.
