Courtney Love was tempted to commit suicide

London, April 22 (IANS) Singer Courtney Love says she was so depressed earlier this month that she contemplated suicide.

The 'Hole' singer, who recently lost the custody of her 17-year-old daughter Frances Bean, is full of self-loathing and considered jumping off the window, reports contactmusic.com.

'I think a lot of people idealise suicide. I understand it. I had an episode two weeks ago when I was tempted to jump out of a window. I'm not saying why but the reason behind it is self-loathing. You know, wouldn't it be better if I wasn't there?' she said.

'I've always been pretty self-destructive. I need protection from myself,' she added.

Love was married to rocker Kurt Cobain, who took his own life in 1994.
