Complaints against 'Ishq Subhan Allah' for misrepresentation of Muslims!
And it's barely been a week...

Zee TV's Ishq Subhan Allah barely made it through the week and we already see trouble seeping in. While most of the audience cannot stop drooling over Adnan Khan's portrayal of Kabir and the strength of Zara's character, some pointed out a major problem. Fans and religious organisations were quick to take offense with the content.
Ishq Subhan Allah is one of those rare shows on Indian TV set against the backdrop of a Muslim society and now we hear that a religious organisation (non-governing body) has filed a complaint against the show for its misrepresentation of Islam. We asked the lead actress, Eisha Singh about it and she said, "I have no idea about it, to be very honest. I'm just doing my work so I had no idea people were protesting against the show."
Turns out, there's quite an outrage on twitter about religious misrepresentation-

Most accusations point towards a lack of knowledge of the religion and its practices. However, it's too early to tell if the makers are at fault in terms of poor research since we haven't seen a full cultural presentation on the show yet.

We muslims keep arguing about many issues. Ishq Subhan Allah presents 2 different ideas about triple talaq. love it or hate it , but you can't ignore that this serial is an eye opener. Eisha Singh and Adnan Khan are doing amazing jobs.

I bet the people complaining are majority of men who feel insecure about their power over women when it comes to divorce - just like men in the show. Even if someone says Triple Talaaq is in Qur'an it doesn't still justify the fact that to get married a man needs a woman's consent but to divorce her, her view doesn't matter? Even if Zaara's view is not in fact a true reflection, it certainly can be a philosophical question - Stop overpowering women, start empowering them instead! IS is a great show and I'm one of those Muslim men who is backing this show to empower women all the way!!! I hope the channels do not listen to some pathetic protests intended to maintain patriarchy!

I dunno on what basis they want this serial. It is nice and my Muslim friend was also proud to see it. If they feel that religion is not shown properly then I want them to see the mirror QH has made a joke of Islam in my view.

Well it's good that he hasn't had a strife with 'Khans'. Nobody would want to get in the bad books of the beloved 'Khans'. By the way, his work in Commando was appreciable :)

First of all I have no idea who he is. Secondly did he just use the "Khans" in his quote to get this piece read? I only looked because of that. What a silly article.
