Former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron is reportedly considering legal action against Coldplay, after a viral kiss cam moment at their Boston concert sparked a wave of internet chatter and memes. The video featured Byron embracing his HR chief Kristin Cabot, with both allegedly married to other people at the time.

According to Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop and later covered by outlets like Mandatory and Reality Tea, Byron is exploring a lawsuit against the British band and the concert organisers. He is said to be citing “emotional distress” and “invasion of privacy” following the public exposure of the moment on the stadium's big screen.

Sources close to Byron claim he was unaware of being filmed and is deeply upset about how the video spiralled online. “He didn’t consent to being filmed or publicly humiliated,” a source told Reality Tea. The video, which was part of a kiss cam segment, went viral soon after the show, with the couple’s embrace turning into a meme template.

Legal experts, however, seem doubtful about Byron's chances in court. Several noted that individuals at public events, especially concerts with jumbotrons and cameras, cannot reasonably expect privacy. "He was in a public space, surrounded by thousands, and under camera surveillance," one expert pointed out.

The moment occurred when Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin playfully acknowledged the kiss cam during the Boston show. Sources say the singer later made a light-hearted remark at the band’s next concert, reportedly laughing off the lawsuit rumours.

Though the band has yet to officially respond to Byron’s reported legal plans, insiders claim Martin "laughed out loud" when he heard about the potential lawsuit. For now, the viral moment remains a trending meme across platforms, even as Byron weighs his legal options.

With the story still developing, it remains to be seen whether any formal legal steps will be taken or if the controversy will fade with the next viral moment.
