Chris Hemsworth: Didn’t Realise Marvel Movies were so Popular in India!

Chris Hemsworth is all set for the release of his upcoming Netflix film ‘Extraction’. The film will premiere on 24th April 2020 on Netflix and he shot for the same in India in 2018. Chris shot in the locations of Ahmedabad and Mumbai and was scheduled to come to Mumbai to promote his film on March 16. However, the promotional tour was cancelled due to the outbreak of coronavirus. 

Prior to the release of his Netflix film, Chris in a special video call spoke to IANS and stated that he didn’t realise how popular the marvel films were in India. Chris said, "I loved shooting in India. The people were incredible. I didn't realise how popular the Marvel films were in India. So that was, at times, overwhelming," 

Speaking about his experience shooting in India, Chris said, “There was such positivity and enthusiasm for all of us and our crew. During shooting, we had hundreds and thousands of people on certain days lining up on the streets and up on top of bridges and in buildings, you know, after every take, cheering and applauding. I've never experienced anything like it. And as I said, I have such fond memories of India and the people there,"

Chris who married Elsa Pataky in 2010 has three children, a daughter and twin sons. His daughter's name is India and speaking about the reason behind this, he shared, “My wife (Elsa Pataky) spent a lot of time in India and that was where the name originally came from.” He also added, “I love the place and the people. It was sort of intimidating as it was exciting because there were so many people. We felt like rock stars in a stadium. But the warmth and support we got while shooting there, no matter how disruptive we were to their daily lives, it was so good.”
