Chintu ka Birthday

Ever since the release of it's trailer, ZEE5's 'Chintu ka Birthday' has captivated us with it's simplicity and it's emotional touch. The film is a heartwarming story of an Indian family who stuck in a war torn country. Amid the destructions and the negativity, the family finds happiness in small things in their life.

The film is written and directed by National Award-winning filmmakers Satyanshu & Devanshu Singh and is Produced by First Draft Ent, Tulsea and Cinemese Twins. The film has a promising star cast of  Vedant Raj Chibber as Chintu, Vinay Pathak as Chintu's father, Tillotama Shome as Chintu's Mother, Bisha Chaturvedi as Laxmi (Chintu's Sister), Seema Pahwa as Chintu's grandmother, Khalid Massou and Mir Mehroos.

The story starts off while showcasing the life of Chintu, who is all set to celebrate his 6th birthday. His entire family comes together for one goal, to make Chintu's Birthday memorable. From baking cake, blowing balloons, new clothes, chocolates, gifts and decorating the house, Chintu's entire family leaves no stone unturned in making his special day a memorable one. In the first 20 minutes of the film, the film manages to engross you into the simple yet beautiful life of an Indian family away from their home.

However, what comes next will change the course of the storyline, and it will make you wonder till the very end, 'Will Chintu be able to celebrate his Birthday?'.

The film will take you on a roller coaster ride, will manage to bring a smile on your face even in the most serious situation because of it's innocence. This can be easily justified with the line 'Papa hum isse cake nai denge' which we also saw in the trailer. The writing has been extremely powerful and has been able to convey the message of love and unity even in the times of destruction and hatred.

Chintu's (Vedant) innocence will completely steal the show and by the end of the film, you'll find yourself rooting for him and his birthday party. Vinay Pathak beautifully depicts the role of an emotional father, loving husband and a dutiful son, his simplicity and honesty in the performance will connect with the audience. Seema Pahwa as grandmother and Tillotama Shome as Chintu's mother convincingly portray the respective characters and engage us in their beautiful little world. No family is perfect and by keeping that in mind, we'll also witness a few moments of their bickering. Bisha Chaturvedi as Laxmi will too engage you with her performance.

Verdict: If you're looking for something warm on a cold rainy day, then Chintu ka Birthday is the perfect package for you. The show will take you on a journey of emotions but at the end, the story as well as the characters will stay with you for a very long time.
