The upcoming epic historical show, 'Chandra Nandini' has been raising excitement levels since its announcement. The makers have roped in Rajat Tokas, who will once again essay a titular role in the historical show. Rajat will be playing the role of Chandragupta Maurya while actress, Shweta Basu Prasad will be playing Nandini.

However, before the story flags off to the grown-up Chandra and Nandini, it will focus on the childhood lives of the duo. And while child actor Jineet Rath will be playing the young Chandragupta, the actress playing foster mother to Chandra has been finalized.

Actress Vibhuti Thakur best known for her role in 'Doli Armaanon Ki' has been roped in to play this pivotal role.

It will go as Chandragupta's mother, Moora (Papia Sengupta) will be forced to leave Chandra in the jungle where Kanika (Vibhuti Thakur) will spot him. She will then decide to take him and raise him. Kanika will be a simple woman who lives a simple lifestyle.
