Chaitrali Gupte to join Sharad Malhotra and Sulagna Panigrahi in Star Plus’ Vidrohi

India Forums is back with the daily dose of exclusive updates from the entertainment world. An array of new shows is in the pipeline and will soon hit the TV screens. One of the most awaited shows is Star Plus’ upcoming historical show produced by Gatha Productions, tentatively titled Vidrohi.

Reports has it that actors like Sharad Malhotra, Sulagna Panigrahi and Shilpa Taluskar will be seen playing pivotal roles in the show. While Sharad has carved a niche in the industry with his performances in projects like Banu Main Teri Dulhan, Maharana Pratap, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki, Naagin 5 among others, Sulagna has been a part of Sony TV’s Amber-Dhara. She has also done many movies and commercial ads.

As per reports, the story of the show will be based on the rebellion against the British East India Company in Odisha in the year 1817. The leads in the show will be two princesses and one warrior and the whole concept will be based on the British Era.

India Forums had exclusively reported about Simmba actor Saurabh Gokhle bagging the project. Now, the latest update is that actress Chaitrali Gupte has been roped in to play a prominent role in the show. Chaitrali is known for her stint in shows like Yeh Rishtey Hai Pyaar Ke, Shastri Sisters and Piya Albela among others.

We couldn’t connect with Chaitrali for a comment. Vidrohi is expected to launch in the month of August.
