Celebration time for Jasuben..

It was Celebration time on the sets of NDTV Imagine’s Jasuben Jayantilal Joshi Ki Joint Family as they celebrated the birthday of Jasuben. It was a theme party decided by the members of the family to surprise to the head of the family.

“I’m really happy to see all the members of my family celebrating my birthday on such a grand scale,” says Jasuben.

The theme for the party is historical and mythological get-ups. Dharmesh is Lakshman and his wife is Ravan. “This avatar of ours is very different from our real personalities in the show. This idea was given to us by Nandini,” says Dharmesh.

“Jhansi Ki Rani is very similar to Ketki but not Nandini,” states Ketkie. Pinakin speaks, “I’m Narad muni which is not at all similar to me in real life or the character I play on screen”

Draupadi is essayed by Pankor Baa. “I love to wear jewellery and thus I chose to become Draupadi,” she quips. Chandu is Rabindra Nath Tagore of today, and says, “Chandu is a poet and so is Rabindraji, so this goes with my character in the show”.

There is another twist in the tale as Jasuben also gives them a surprise. “Pankor Baa and I have a bet that my family members know me very well. So Baapa (Anang Desai) will ask five questions to each of the family members and if they win, Jasuben will come in front of them. If they lose, then the head of the family will not celebrate her birthday,” adds Swati Chitnis aka Jasuben.

Will Jasuben win her bet…? That is something to wait and watch. The special episode airs today at 9:00 pm and will go on for one hour.
