Cannes 2025: Is Alia Bhatt giving her debut appearance a skip keeping in mind the national sentiments?

Alia Bhatt was all set to make her Cannes 2025 debut this year. The actress’ first appearance was supposed to be this weekend at the French Riviera. She was at the MET Gala in 2023 and 2024 gaining immense praise for her immaculate looks. It seems as per a report in Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt has decided to re-think her decision to travel to Cannes. The main reason is the mood of the nation right now. After the cowardly attacks on tourists in Pahalgam, India launched Operation Sindoor on Pakistan. The actress and her team are debating whether this is a good time to travel abroad. We are hearing of ceasefire violation as well.

Alia Bhatt is not going to be there for the opening night. She is also a part of the same luxury beauty brand like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But Cannes 2025 is more than a week-long festival. The organizers had planned a number of activities around Alia Bhatt but now she is not going. There are slim chances of her travelling to France in the coming week. Back home, she is shooting for Alpha.

Of course, there were several activities planned around her today and tomorrow, but she is still contemplating if she can make it in the coming days. It will also depend on her schedule back home.
