Box Office report day 10: 'OMG 2' finally crosses the 100 crore mark; 'Gadar 2' on its way to mint 400 crores

The battleground of the box office has witnessed an intense clash between two cinematic powerhouses – 'Oh My God 2' (OMG 2) and 'Gadar 2'. Despite the formidable competition posed by Sunny Deol's magnum opus, both films have managed to carve out a notable space for themselves, captivating audiences and rewriting box office records.

'OMG 2' emerged as a formidable contender, even against the backdrop of 'Gadar 2's' staggering success. According to early estimates reported by trade analyst Taran Adarsh the film continued its victorious stride, amassing an impressive ₹12.7 crore net on a single Sunday. This remarkable feat catapulted its 10-day collection to a commendable ₹114.31 crore net.

The narrative of OMG 2 revolves around an ensemble cast featuring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. A reflection of its steady growth, OMG 2 opened at ₹10.26 crore and witnessed its highest collection on day 5 with a remarkable ₹17.1 crore. The film concluded its opening week with a substantial collection of ₹85.05 crore net.

As OMG 2 stepped into its second week, it continued to shine. The film earned ₹6.03 crore net on Friday, ₹10.53 crore net on Saturday, and a strong ₹12.70 crore nett on Sunday, bolstering its position in the fierce race for box office supremacy. Under the directorial guidance of Amit Rai and the production banner of Viacom 18 Studios, Wakaoo Films, and Cape Of Good Films, OMG 2 artfully tackles the theme of sex education while captivating audiences with its narrative prowess.

Meanwhile, Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma released on the same date as OMG 2, the film has been nothing short of a box office juggernaut. Taran Adarsh reports that Gadar 2 minted a remarkable ₹41 crore on a single Sunday, further strengthening its already impressive collection. The film, headlined by Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, has proven unstoppable, amassing a remarkable ₹375.1 crore, as of now.

A sequel to the iconic Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which captured hearts in 2001, Gadar 2 continues the journey of Sunny Deol's character, Tara Singh. The film is set against the backdrop of India's partition in 1947 and follows Tara Singh's daring journey across borders to rescue his captured son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma.
