BIG Cinemas crosses 100-screen mark in west India

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS) BIG Cinemas, part of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG), has crossed the 100-screen mark in western India, the company said Friday.

'Maharashtra is a very important territory for BIG Cinemas thanks to its flourishing film industry and large percentage of the nationwide box office, due to which we have the largest number of screens in the state,' Tushar Dhingra, chief operating officer of BIG Cinemas, said in a statement.

The multiplex chain reached the 100-mark with the opening of its 1,071-seater, three-screen multiplex in Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Remodelled and renovated from the two-screen Anjali-Sangeeta theatre, the new hall is called Anjali BIG Cinemas.

It is the 25th BIG Cinemas venture in Maharashtra and 34th in the western region on the whole.
