Preetika Rao doesn’t need an introduction. Even after years of her television debut with Colors’ TV show Beintehaa, the actress continues to garner love for her portrayl of the character. On fans’ demand the show is being re-telecast on the channel in the afternoon slot.

We grabbed the opportunity of chatting with the gorgeous actor and got her insights on the show’s re-run and her conscious decision of staying away from TV shows.

When asked about Beintehaa’s re-telecast, Preetika said, “I am really happy with the over-whelming response I am getting! Fans are writing in comments that they have watched Beintehaa 11 times and more! - that's how many times people watched my sister Amrita Rao's movie Vivah which really makes me happy! ‘Beintehaa’ continues to live-up to its name which means " Limitless " and there has actually been no stopping for this show right since it ended on Colors with its international telecasts in Turkey, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Tanzania, Pakistan! Right now, it's being watched in the Fiji Islands near Australia...and this show has continued to give me international recognition, fan-following and awards till date… for which I am extremely grateful for!".

When asked about being missing from the scene for a long time and the rumors that states that Rao is against giving auditions for TV show, she quipped, “Yes, that’s absolutely true!  I am consciously not doing Television since 2018 for many reasons! – And one of them is because I really don't understand the concept of making it compulsory here in India for established television actors to audition in-order to bag a new project -even if they have given super-hit shows and proved their metal! This does not happen in Bollywood or Hollywood unless you are shooting for a concept that needs prosthetic makeup! But here it is almost as if someone out there is taking the pleasure in making it compulsory for established actors to stand in front of a camera- in a tiny room – and audition for a new project! Thank-God I never had to audition for any work done till date whether it was my South Movies or my Television shows! The producers who worked with me cast me with a lot of respect and faith! So now when my manager tells me that an offer needs audition - I let it go - even if it's the biggest offer on table because I do not subscribe to this modus-operandi and I think it is being very un-fair to actors!".
