Colors Marathi’s one of the most loved reality shows, Bigg Boss 2 is experiencing new drama every single day. Makers are keeping no stone unturned to increase the entertainment factor of the show, recent being the entry of ex-contestants Pushkar Jog, Sai Lokur, Sharmistha Raut and Smita Gondkar. But with all the thrills, lately, the show has been experiencing sudden exits too. And this started with Actress Shivani Surve being removed by host Mahesh Manjrekar as a disciplinary action against her. The actress was physically not sound and thus, she wanted to quit the show.

Having several questions surrounding her exit, we got in touch with her to know what exactly happened. Below are the excerpts from the conversation that we had with her...

You were touted to be the winner of season 2, in fact you were trending on social media in the initial days. What was the reason behind your exit?

There were certain situations due to which I wasn’t keeping physically fit… And in such an environment it is very important to be physically fit. My physical health had somehow affected me mentally too. Yes, they took proper care of me in the house but it was difficult for me physically as well as mentally to stay inside. There was a news about me being depressed that spread outside. On which I’d say there is nothing wrong in being depressed. It’s normal… But, I was not into depression. Yes, if I would have stayed there for a longer duration in the condition that I was going through, then definitely I would have gone into depression. I had an emotional breakdown… It’s not easy to leave such a big international show, there were issues and hence I had to take this decision.

I was PMSing and all my mood swings were 50 percent due to it. But, that particular problem is very personal and I cannot disclose much about it. We are living in the 21st century, where girls are vocal about everything, even periods, but I want to keep it personal here…

There were several connotations on your exit, made by people outside, what do you want to say about it? And how did your family react to your exit decision?

Yes, there were good comments too and I am focusing on them. As an actor I am sporty to hear good as well as bad remarks from people. Tomorrow, if I do something good they will be the one supporting me and if they are upset with something they can talk about it… But often we forget that we live in a democratic country where there are many important issues who need our voices. My friends and family were very upset due to this, because everyone wanted me to win the show but they understood my problem and they are fine now.

You had given Bigg Boss a legal threat, what do you want to say about it?

That house tests your patience level and sometimes, you speak things that you shouldn’t, and this is what happened in my case too. They understood that my situation was not normal and it was a major one, so they got me out of the house. It’s not easy to escape such a big format.

You had a lot of fights in the house. Be it Veena, Parag, Shiv or Bichukale; what’s your take on these fights and your reactions?

I have taken a stand on all important issues. Yes, my tone went up but that’s how I am and I can’t change that. With respect to Veena, she had hit and as a reaction to her action I kicked her. I am not justifying what I did, I could have behaved differently and then maybe she would have been removed from the house.

Ex-contestant Sai Lokur had slammed you, calling you undeserving for the show, what do you want to say about this?

Well, those are her views and her way of seeing things. It doesn’t affect me at all… She was expressing her opinions, if she would have been the winner then it would have been different. But, it’s OK…

Your friend Madhav has been labeled as a confused player, as an insider what are your views?

Madhav is not confused, he is playing with their minds. Even I had done that and it works. Couple of times I had said in front of Parag and Kishori Tai  that I don’t want to stay in the house, and that worked for me, I wasn’t nominated in the second week. These are strategies.

Who according to you is the weakest and a ditcher player?

According to me, Rupali is the weakest and Kishori Tai is a ditcher player.

Shivani is a popular Hindi and Marathi actress, popular for her work in shows like Devyani, Jaana Na Dil Se Door and Ek Deewana Tha to name a few. After Bigg Boss, she is currently busy with her upcoming film. We wish her lots of good luck and success ahead.
