Asit Modi reacts to the #BoycottTMKOC trend & promises Dayaben's return to the show

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah remains a cherished show on Sony SAB, entertaining audiences for 15 years. However, the absence of Dayaben, portrayed by Disha Vakani, has left fans disappointed.

Disha Vakani is a household name who took indefinite maternity leave in 2017 and has not reprised her role as Daya Jethalal Gada since then. As fans eagerly await Daya Bhabhi's comeback, Asit Modi has consistently disclosed ongoing auditions for the coveted role. Recently celebrating its 15th anniversary, TMKOC received a significant update from Asit Modi, who announced the imminent return of the fan-favorite character, Dayaben. 

Speculation surrounds Dayaben's return, with rumours suggesting a new actress might step into Disha Vakani's role. Despite assurances from the creators about the character's return, the hashtag 'Boycott TMKOC' gained traction on social media, sparking speculations about the show's future. 

Recent uproar claimed the show would conclude after its impressive 15-year run. However, the latest update assures fans that Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is here to stay, with producer Asit Modi addressing the ongoing uncertainty.

Addressing the ongoing controversy, Asit Kumarr Modi, the show's creator, has finally broken his silence. As per TellyChakkar's reports, he asserted that his commitment lies in entertaining the audience while maintaining transparency. Challenges have arisen in promptly reintroducing Daya's character due to specific circumstances. However, this should not be misconstrued as the character's permanent absence from the show. Whether embodied by Disha Vakani or another artist, only time will unfold the answer. He assures the audience that Daya will make a comeback and that the enduring journey of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah will remain steadfast. Managing a comedy show for fifteen years presents a formidable task, distinguishing it as a unique production untouched by any temporal leaps.
