Asha Negi on Baarish 2: We tried maintaining the same Sweetness, Simplicity and Essence of the show

ALTBalaji- ZEE5's much awaited series Baarish 2 starring Asha Negi and Sharman Joshi is all set to premiere today. We got in touch with Asha Negi who essays the role of Gauravi in the series, where she talked about her experience, character, working with Jeetendra Sir and much more.  

The response to the trailer has been great and the series is all set to premiere, so how is the feeling right now?

Very excited, I think it has still not hit me that our show is coming. Now that it's finally coming, we don't know how the response will be, audience loved season one, don't know of they'll like season 2 as well. But as far as shooting is concerned, we tried maintaining the same sweetness, the simplicity and the essence of the show. We really hope that they like it this time as well. 

What are the major characteristic changes that we'll see in Gauravi in season 2?

I think Gauravi in season 2 can be a little 'Khadoos' sometimes and she can be a little egositic at times. But she'll also love Anuj even more than before. After a couple gets married, in the start it's very good but then later the problem arises, so it's that. 

Was it difficult for you to dwell into the character of Gauravi again?

I think almost everything was similar. But there were like a few kissing scenes which I have never done before on screen, so yes, that was a little challenging. Season two has more emotional drama than season one, so even that was a challenge to get it out right. 

And how different was the shooting experience compared to the previous season?

We were all just waiting that when will season 2 start and we all will meet and start working with each other again. Also because the entire team is so happy and entertaining, and I think I would entirely give the credit to our Director Nandita Ma'am because being the Captain of the ship she was always so happy and charged about shooting. We had a lot fun with her. 

You also shot with Jeetendra Sir. So how was that experience?

We were all so nervous before his entry on the sets but he came and he is just so cute. He is so sweet. He didn't really like sitting in the van much, so he would come and sit on the sets. He would ask us to continue the shooting and his stories and tales would begin and everyone would sit around him listening to it and having a great time. All those days that he was present on the sets, it was very entertaining. 

How similar or how different you are from Gauravi in real life?

I think very similar when it comes to being responsible towards your family. Even I can get a little egoistic sometimes just like the character. She loves her family, I am quite similar but I think she's a little more Indian and homely than I am. So yes, there a little differences here and there but rest, I am quite similar. 

As you mentioned in the beginning, the entire show is very simple and sweet, has this character made an impact on you in your real life?

No, I mean when we are in a character, we finish the shoot and we come back home as ourselves. So I don't think I let the character get into my brain or my thought or myself so much that I am behaving or being like that character. I am again back to myself, once the scene is done, even on the sets.
